Written by author Michelle Sterling, and with gorgeous illustrations by artist Aaron Asis, this is a beautiful and rich story about a little girl, the Summer season, her Lola, and the delicious foods from the Philippines. It all starts with a little girl who has a list of the things that remind her that Summer is here –the smell in the air, the hours in the pool, the games and fireworks, and most importantly her Lola, and the many Filipino dishes they enjoy making and eating as a family. Sterling and Asis’ collaboration brings forth a sweet story that will transport us to Summer, no matter where we are.
